I am looking into change my web person. I hired a local person and she is not giving me the support that I need.
I am looking for ideas or advise for web designers companies. My wife contacted go daddy and they were charging 2,500 dollars for initial design and set up. I was wondering if somebody here is using them or another company.

Posted 05-17-2018 06:17 has done all of my sites over the last 12 years or so. I use them because they are local, honest, do good work.

I know they have a budget site option for $1460 that is mobile/tablet friendly, so I checked with them and they gave me these two sites as examples of the $1460 option (not medical clinics, but you can get the point, and the template can easily work for a clinic).

I used that same $1460 option for the most recent version of my practice site (, but had them do some extra work that put it in the $2K range.

The big question you need to ask yourself is...WHAT do you want your site to do?  Let people know what you do?  Benefits of DPC?  SIgn up, get materials, fill forms? Make appts? Send you messages? Entice new patients?  Entice employers? Reduce phone calls from people asking what hours you're open/where you are/parking info/basic charges/whatever other questions can be easily answered w a website?

You'll pay more per hour for an expert, but they can do the job faster and better.

I became my own web person w WordPress and a site through NameCheap, but I like learning tech stuff.  As others mentioned, Wix, Weebly, Squarespace and others have free websites and tools to build websites. Craig Morrison has a site about making sites more effective (UX).  And here's a UX person looking for work (you could ask him about lower level web designers, since he's looking for a FT job):

Matt Phan I am a Jr. UX/UI Designer with mid to senior level project management experience. looking to land a role in UX design to create an impact on products we use.
