    Hi,

    The scenario is this:
The physician (me) has been in Anthem network in California, with the payment assigned to a medical group with a couple of physicians.

Now I created my own organization, got my Type 2 NPI and its Federal Tax ID and California Tax ID. (Independently from this topic, this new organization's enrollment has been approved by Medicare).

Anthem Blue Cross told us to send a doc (see attached) to CAPhysicianApp@Anthem.com. We wrote the form and sent to them about 4 weeks ago. They didn't ask us for anything and haven't been added to CAQH roster yet. We tried a few phone calls but didn't find a right person to expedite.

Do you know any person or any way that we can check the status or even expedite the application? Thanks.

Did you try also the network support? You could ask for a phone # or provider rep to go over the contracting and credentialing process.
It's so weird these days that Medicare credentialing and changes are faster than private insurances.
Also that we live in a digital world that allows instantaneous communication but an insurance company can say you are in a 90 day window for credentialing. At least you have e-mail proof of when you started the process.
Forget if you fax it and didn't keep proof of the fax going through; you'd be back to square one because they could say they never received the fax, send it again and the 90 days starts over.

Call and tell them you need to speak to someone in charge of "contracting" and not "credentialing". I sent my information as requested, with intial delay-since I stated credentialing intially (and was previously credentialed with another practice).
