 Message: Melissa,

why not give it a try?  (or have your office folks do so.)  The biller I mentioned before produces batch claims with Amazing Charts, then uploads the file to OA.

This page is oriented toward EMRs that don't easily produce a HCFA batch file: https://www.officeally.com/registerforms/office_ally_forms/file%20submission%20guidelines.pdf (I also uploaded the file)

Is anyone out there doing this- trying to not have duplicate entry AC to OA and this seems like a good option. But I haven't ever come across anyone actually doing this is.

Hi Melissa,

I don't use AC myself, but a practice I know uses it for billing, and they do a batch file transfer from AC to OA, so there's no double entry- just enter in AC, and everything goes over to OA.

Is that what you're doing?

If you're not, you could call their billing person (Lisa Montoya 805-540-6010 ask for Lisa- mornings Pacific time) and she could walk your people through it.  There might be a charge if that took more than a few minutes, but it would be ++ worth it.  The biller there is like a shark- it might also be worth while having her tutor your folks even at an hourly rate.

This is the stuff computers were supposed to make easier.

Anyone who uses Amazing Charts and NOT using a billing service, what do you use?  Would you recommend it?

we've for many years used office ally because it's free but the amount of work needed to do double entry doesn't make sense. Especially in the age of frequently changing insurances.

we use UpDox and it works wonderfully having patients submit insurance info there and thus it dumps automatically into AC. so we want something AC driven.

we're trying hard to keep overhead low and a billing service really is much more than our 10 hour billing/ bookkkeeper. But we need a more efficient tech solution as currently it is cumbersome. Especially billing and tracking patients to collect their portion.

Thanks
